Good People are nominated in the Community category of the Bolton and Bury Business Awards which takes place in June 2009. This award reflects Good People's expertise in providing real practical support to the community in which we are based and providing a vital support service to the community.
March 2009
We gain approval by the British Computer Society Approved to deliver ECDL / ICDL training and certification. Delivered at our Bolton base, this programme helps candidates to gain a qualification which will improve their IT knowledge and also their job prospects.

Good People becomes a member of the CSJ Alliance, following the visit of Juliette Ash, Alliance Director of the CSJ to see our work in Bolton and our community work in collaboration with Bolton Council.

We sponsor the Best Induction Training category at the Call North West awards at the Liverpool Crowne Plaza Hotel. The award, presented by Good People Director Michael Sweeney, goes to insurance specialists, Carole Nash.

Vertex is named as the best large employer in Greater Manchester at the Greater Manchester Employers Coalition Awards. Good People's programme designed to help local residents get back into work at the Company enabled Vertex to win the award.

Good People attended the Centre for Social Justice Alliance Conference at Portcullis House in Westminster. As part of Good People's commitment to social inclusion, we have submitted papers to the CSJ regarding strategies to engage disadvantaged groups into well paid employment roles. The conference was given an introductory address from Rt Hon Iain Duncan Smith MP.

Good People joins Call North West, the North West's regional contact centre forum. Call centres are of vital economic importance to our region and we enjoy good links with the sector. Partnership with Call North West will support our services to both clients and candidates.

Louise Croston joins Good People: as our Account Director. With over 13 years experience in the recruitment industry, Louise has managed large scale projects for blue chip organisations as well as small and medium sized employers around the North West of England. She has supplied personnel from the shop floor to executive management positions and will contribute to the growth of our business.

Good People presents to the National Employment Panel in London. The panel, made up of major employers, advises Government on skills and the UK labour market. Our extensive experience in recruitment and retention for Contact Centre's helps us to explain how vacancies in this sector are a good match for the Government's key target groups for full-time employment, namely lone parents, people with disabilities and candidates from deprived wards in our major towns and cities. The presentation was made in collaboration with the Greater Manchester Employer Coalition.
